The Zero House has been designed by the architect Scott Specht and it is completely green, automatic and self sufficient. It looks like no house you have ever seen before. It has an extra wide roof to provide high efficiency solar panels, so there will be no electricity bills. The huge solar panels will collect and store enough energy to survive. It will also have enough extra energy to power batteries, even if it is a cloudy day. The lighting in the house will be with LED lighting on the walls and ceilings. Each bulb will last for 100,000 hours. The water will be held in a 2700 gallon roof cistern. The weight from the water will create a strong force, enough to push through the plumbing. Nothing will be wasted in the house, even the toilet water will be put to good use. After the toilet is flushed it will travel down to the basement to become part of the compost. In an ideal world the Zero House would be great futuristic home, but in realistic terms it would be hard to find the land and cash to build this extraordinary home. In the mean time we will have to try living our life more ecologically by, recycling and using less energy in the home.
